Who is Sean the Blogonaut?
I am an Active Atheist, Skeptic and a Humanist.
I am not an anti-theist but I will call a spade a spade. I respect the person not necessarily their beliefs I will try and be polite in pointing out where I think people are wrong, and like Phillip Adams I don’t let such a small thing (religion) get in the way of good friendship.
If things I write make you uncomfortable, examine why that might be. I am open to being challenged on the things I write, but be prepared to back your comments up with good argument and evidence.
What is this blog about?
This blog was originally a personal blog started on Blogger, the old content can still be found here. You may find references to google in earlier posts here as I have imported the content. Why the change? Basically for better control over my content. Managing my own site has brought with it some headaches but also a lot of freedom.
Over time my writing has shifted more towards writing about atheism, skepticism and science. In 2008 I became heavily involved in criticism of Mercy Ministries and their operations in Australia. A link to the Mercy Ministries issues page can be found below its worth reading if you think all Christian organisations are benevolent.
I have at times thought of breaking my blog up into separate blogs and just writing about one topic each, I find though that I write my best content when I keep everything containing a tinge of my personality. In early 2010 I started writing posts on Steampunk genre, another area of interest to me. My decision was to inject a bit of levity into a blog that at times can be about some pretty serious issues and depressing issues. Writing about steampunk forces me into a different kind of writing space.
