I have never heard of this Dr. Rachie, in all the time I have done the internet. Amazing, a person who is in Austrailia, suddenly pops up as lead on the interenet. Does she do anything other than "Skeptic" stuff? Or is she up for the highest bidder? Trying to figure this out. I have been in the buisness of alternative medicine for 8 years now, and also with regular medicine, prior to that. What is Dr. Rachie a "Doctor" of? Thanks…

Not entirely sure what you are getting at here. She hasn't suddenly popped up on the internet, she;s been involved with the skeptic zone podcast for at least the last 12 months. If you are talking about the current kerfuffle though, the Shorty Awards are award categories for the best short form content ie 140 characters on twitter. Dr Rachie is a prolific user of twitter, well known for her eloquent criticisms of alternative medicine. and advocating evidence based medicine and healthcare.

She works has a doctorate in cell biology and works in heart research(from memory). The skeptical stuff as you call it, she does in her own spare time like most skeptics. What do you mean is she up for the highest bidder? She makes no money out of her skeptical advocacy, she is not a shill of big Pharma if thats what you are insinuating.
Mike Adams made me laugh his ass off by publishing the skeptic’s belief system. I’m cruising skeptics blogs to read the responses and I’m astounded at how weak they are. “he’s having a meltdown” lol Wow, you guys are at the Epic Fail point. Are we in the same reality? Skeptics accept the results determined by the scientific method. Can you demonstrate the scientific validity of homeopathy, reflexology etc.
I will agree that Mike Adams makes slightly more sense than you do. Articulate might be stretching it though. While I can understand what he says his grasp of logic and reality is sorely lacking as pointed out by Steve Novella above.

You say this as though you think I might somehow be offended by it. I am a Skeptic as well as an atheist, I see no credible evidence for souls or god for that matter. That being said there are some Skeptics that do have a belief in god and possibl souls? Can you show me evidence of my soul or yours for that matter?

I think you mean scraping the bottom of the barrel ( I see you must be a victim of the American Education system). Numbers are dwindling – you mean in the shorty's? Actually no they are slowly increasing. The can't actually dwindle. I see that Mercola is gaining ground, but then I am surprised that the category was not swamped by his legions of credulous fans prior to this.
