A reader informed me that old links to the Mercy Ministries Handbook appear to be broken. I have uploaded the Handbook to the new server and have attached it to this post for your reference. Note that this handbook was handed to Mercy Clients after they had been accepted into the program.
You can find it here
And while we are on the subject of Mercy Documents here is an application for an internship at Mercy Ministries UK. Note the questions under Section 8 pictured left.
I have worked with sexual abuse victims, individuals who self harm, I was NEVER asked to give my sexual history or disclose whether I had been the victim of sexual abuse.
Do any of my UK readers know whether this may constitute unlawful discrimination in the UK?

My, my and the intern program doesn't ask whether the interns have psychological training. I feel so much better now. These places really need to be shut down.
It beggars belief doesn't it.
Why would an internship require psychological training? Its an internship, voluntary and rare involve the level of responsibility to necessitate prior training to that extent.
That would depend on whether or not they discriminated or not..
A persons sexuality has nothing to do with whether or not they can carryout health care provision. This is discriminatory policy. It is designed to vet applicants who are homosexual or prevent them from applying in the first place. It's as disgusting asking whether or not you have any jews in you family tree, or any blacks. But then the group is religious and their particular bigoted Christianity is perhaps protected under their core beliefs. Never mind that these core christian beliefs change to suit the particular mind set/ politics/ prejudices of the christians espousing them.
Wasn't trying to be unduly harsh, were you perhaps referring to an actual case of discrimination rather than a discriminatory policy?
