The grumbling has started. Apparently the Global Atheist Convention applied for Victorian state government funding some time ago and they have not yet had a reply. This is in stark contrast to the 4.5 million that has been granted to the organisers of the Circus Parliament of World religions to be held in Melbourne in December.
The loose criteria for this grant, I am led to believe is that the event is judged to be beneficial to state tourism. The Parliament of World Religions is expecting 8000 participants and is being funded to the tune of 4.5 million – rough back of the envelope calculation= $562.50 per head
So the Global Atheist convention should be expecting roughly about 1.4 million in funding. No?
Perhaps it should be double, seeing that we are cast as selfish, immoral and materialistic heathens.
So is it just a lack lustre bureaucracy, or religious bigotry?

Surely there must be more Atheists in the world than god bothers anyway? Thus a much greater potential for tourism. But I guess they are too scared of offending the religious nuts who hold all the power and money in this world.
Maybe you should reapply under the name Global Religious Discussions Group and see if you can sneak in the back door……
Or maybe a world AFL convention
Do you really think we should ADMIT to being a religion like the AFL?
ROFLMAO
