In a moment of inspired madness I thought I would try and rally some of Australia and New Zealand’s Atheist Bloggers under the same banner in preparation for the big convention in 2010.
So I have started the Australian and New Zealand Atheist Blogroll (ANZAB) here. Think the name is naff, well… sue me, it was late.
My plan is for Australian and New Zealand Atheist Bloggers to coalesce and become familiar with each other, and for those who might be attending the event to represent as a group, to network and cover the convention.
As promised here are some introductions of those who have signed up.
Generally refer to myself as a devout atheist although agnostic atheist is probably the more accurate description. I (at least try to) look at things from the stance of not believing in the existence of anyone or anything until such a point in time as enough evidence has been brought forward to support the claim of its or their existence. As with all things, the greater the claim the greater evidence required, so saying there’s a place called “Sydney” in Canada wouldn’t require much evidence as there’s places called “Sydney” in many countries, but to claim Atlantis exists would require a heck of a lot.
My blog is basically my place to rant, although it doesn’t get updated as often as it should. Anything and (unfortunately not) everything that catches my interest or fancy as an IT guy, skeptic and atheist.

I have just joined this evening.I am so excited that there is this site. A chance to speak openly will be like a tonic. I am so disgusted by these religous folk and their superstitions, their impositions on my life; their intense lobbying means abortion, euthenasia, reasonable drug policy and on and on are denied what should be a citizen's rights. I hate how they can avoid paying taxes while not participating in the so-called democratic process. I think the worst thing is the way most people just go along with the status quo and it is such a cop out on what could be a vibrant and engaged life. Oh I do go on but I am sure I wil lbe understood. Only one obstacle and it is that I love classical music and so much of it is supposedly inspired by the love of god. Ah well I am sure someone on this site will come up with some good rationale as to why I can still enjoy it on its own terms of beauty of composition.
