Tokbox – Free Conferencing Service

Cameron Reilly has put me on to Tokbox, a free video conferencing site that allows you to 

  • video conference call with up to 20? individuals at the one time 
  • share photo’s movies and slideshows with those individuals
  • record public posts sort of like Seesmic which users can comment on or respond to with video
  • place a recorder on your website so that visitors can leave you video messages (like the one below)

Cameron intends to use it instead of Ustream for his scheduled live show next week.

I don’t know if it will actually record conferences though.  I think that this would be a nice feature.  It’s all live chat too so it doesn’t have editing features.

I can see this being useful for atheist and skeptical meetings.
