This was the same response when murmurs about abuses committed by the catholic church came out. First comes disbelief then comes, the bad apple. The thing is the bad apples at Mercy who were overzealous, weren't acting of their own accord they were following a program, a teaching that was provided by Mercy as a whole. With Mercy I fear it is not a case of bad apples but a sick tree. No doubt there are Mercy staff doing a good job and providing love and care to those who need it, but to my mind there is still an aweful lot of pruning to do.
