Why is Science so important? Part 7

In Part 7 Alom covers science and its involvement in medical advancement, a tiny bit about peer review.

It ends with the quote;

science tells us whether a treatment actually works or not

When I hear of declining numbers of science teachers and the flow on effect of less students taking up positions in science degrees I fear that at some point we will end up in a society where we will become the victims of our own wilfull ignorance.

Do creationists and those who fight against the theory of  evolution under that the end result of their idiocy is suffering? Do they not see the connection?

Or do they see the suffering as good, brining them closer to god?
