Cameron Reilly from The Podcast Network has extended an invitation to celebrate Vanini Day.
Vanini who? I hear you say.
Lucilio Vanini, or, as he styled himself in his works, Giulio Cesare (1585 - February 9, 1619), was an Italian free-thinker, born atTaurisano, near Lecce.
He was condemned as an atheist, strangled and his body cremated for having promoted anti-christian ideas. He also had the temerity to suggest that humans might have evolved from apes.
The facebook event is here
So why are we celebrating his life on Easter Sunday? Why not, in the great tradition of usurping important celebrations of other cultures we are taking back Easter
