Aparently the Australian radio presenter John Safran had himself crucified in the Phillipines this year? I can only think he did it to prove it wasn't that big a deal=/

Hi Gang,
You may be interested in what I posted about crosses. I feel that the Christians should at least get the design correct . . . but then. Heck, if they are so busy proclaiming Christ being crucified, they could at least get the day of the week correct. Its one thing to create a myth, but its even worse when you keep getting the myth wrong.

I was very bored yesterday (It's Black Saturday here now). I had to go to my in-laws cause my wife wants to do the Stations of the Cross in her old church, and to join the procession later in the evening. At least she didn't go get crucified. Catholics in the Philippines are weird.

After being rudely awoken by my neighbours stereo on full blast at 7am, I wandered over to my parents' place to observe this traditional day of fasting and penitence by forgoing meat in favour of simple seafood dishes such as fresh prawns and mudcrabs, served with my mum's home-made seafood sauce. Washed down with rum. And followed by beef kebabs for dinner.

My parents are kind of nominally Catholic in a way that mostly seems to involve not going to church, disagreeing with almost everything the Vatican says, drinking large amounts of alcohol, and not being Protestant.
