A nine-year-old girl who was carrying twins, allegedly after being raped by her stepfather, has undergone an abortion despite complaints from Brazil’s Catholic Church. [source]
The crime itself is sickening, the attitude of the church is almost more so. The girl
- is raped by her step father
- has an abortion to save her life
- will be ostracised by her community for committing “murder”
I wonder if she will survive the shame and the guilt.
Where is the compassion?
Where is the love?
The catholic religion at its worst.

As a mum to a 9yo girl myself, this story, on so many levels, makes me feel furious & disgusted. I hope someone gets that poor girl a passport and plane ticket to someplace sane. I'm not sure whether the whole 'excommunication' thing is more bullying or trying to appease their imaginary sadistic sky-daddy so he doesn't chuck them in a pit of fire.
I know they are people that think this is murder and that they are killing two innocents, I don't want to be around people whose moral compass is so far out.:@
This story is infuriating. In a just world, the girl would get the abortion, plus lots of counseling, and the priest and the stepfather would share a small prison cell for several decades.

I can’t tell you how sick I feel at what I just saw on another site. It was all about the Inquisition. It shows all of the ways the church tortured people for Heresy. I really felt my stomach turning. I had to leave the site. An estimated 6 million people died. Another thing I found out the other day is that Vatican means”The Divining Serpent”. Revelation warns us that all will be deceived by Satan. “Vatican” = The Divining Serpent.”. Another thing the Crest on the Vatican is a Serpent. Good look for yourself. Google Crest of a serpent on the Vatican. I couldn’t believe this story until I saw it for myself.
Now God is very real and good. The Roman Catholic Pagan Church is really Satan. If your in this evil Church get out and find God else where. I would run away as fast you can if I were you. Don’t let Satan control you.
God loves you, get away from Satan. Rome=Hell and Vatican=Satan.

I know in the same sense that I know that leprechauns are a crock – no credible evidence. I could be wrong but I think it highly unlikely.
But of course if you wish to get into serious talk about the issue I suppose we should nut out what exactly we are talking about when referring to god.
Well that depends I guess by what you mean by the term God. On the balance of the evidence presented to me, the christian god is a fiction, perpetrated by humans, as are all the other gods that we have dreamed up.
This story about a 9 year old getting pregant does not make sense. Nine year olds can’t get pregnant. I believe a girl has to be at least 12 years old before this can happen.
