While it is pretty much common knowledge that Australia punches above its weight in sporting endeavors, what does not seem to make the news is some of the cutting edge research we do…or rather would do if it were properly funded.

as I said on twitter, priorities are all wrong when we pay some sports people millions to move a ball around but can't find enough funds to do something important like cure cancer.
Or really pushing solar energy developments that CSIRO is developing ie printing solar cells
