I would link to the video but it would probably get me arrested. Though I do note that on the morning of the 11th of March, Nine’s today show played a video of a goanna being sealed in a tent with a sleeping man. They all had a good laugh, the animal was stressed no doubt – but were the RSPCA called?
Has Australia’s funniest home videos been taken off the air for their repeated broadcasting of children being filmed walking into doors etc. No.
Still Chris Illingworth is up on charges of child abuse because he uploaded a video of the Russian child swinger for comment, a video that has been seen by millions world wide. The authorities, however,
say it is a crime for anyone to even watch a viral video of a man swinging a baby around a room. [source]
Asher Moses in recent article, alerts us to Illingsworth’s lawyer’s opinion that
if the case proceeds every Australian who surfs the net could be vulnerable to police prosecution.
…”In theory this could extend to people who just pass on amusing emails and email images which seem to criss-cross work computers every day.
“Some of these emails contain images which poke fun or belittle certain people. Does this mean any depicting children, even in a humorous way, could be deemed abuse?”
The arresting officer, Detective Senior Constable Richard Libke, said in his witness statement that a forensic search of Illingworth’s home and work computers found no items or images of interest.
I can’t help but think that Illingworth is being made an example of, to create a legal precedent. That they are wasting precious resources and time on a man that had no intent of fostering child abuse/exploitation.

An odd case, for sure. I haven't seen the video myself, but if it was a circus performer with his child, it could very possibly be training or something along those lines. I don't know what to think of the video, but arresting someone for posting a video seems unwarranted.
I can't help but think that, this was a missed opportunity at educating Australian society. No instead we get the heavy hand of the law. Were any further arrests made surely the police could find out who else viewed the show on liveleak – just think of the millions of child abusers they could sweep up in that net :S
No the more I look at it the more I see it as a publicity stunt and a waste of resources
