Hillsong – Mercy Ministries no more?

Hillsong has had an interesting link with Mercy Ministries for some time.  Previous Pastors at the Hillsong Darlene and Mark Zscheck were  the  ones responsible for opening that mercy ministries in Australia before moving on to things extra evangelical.

The has been tremendous support in kind (and I suspect  donations) with the Mercy Inmates presented at one of the Hillsong churches on a regular basis.

There has been a link to Mercy Ministries from the Hillsong Website confirming them as acting in partnership -  see link here or click on the pic below for the archived site screenshot

Take a gander at the current site and we see no mercy.

So is this merely a stuff up on the part of some under paid IT guy or have the dropped the hot potato before Mercy are implicated in something?

Or is it simply moving the support out of the light of day.

If and its a big if, Hillsong have pulled out due to some internal disagreement, what does hold for MercyMinistires?  Hillsong is the power broker, if you are  in with Hillsong you are bonafide, 100 puh-cent Christian.

Mind you, I guess they could move their operation to Perth, they are still in with Western Evangelical Empire

Hi Sean… I have seen some of your comments on Nancy Alcorn's site. I am sure that you have reason for feeling how you do. Maybe you know people or someone who was hurt at or by somthing at Mercy Ministries. And I could understand, in that case, you being angry about that and wanting to speak out. I just wanted you to know from someone, myself, who went through Mercy Ministries…that that experience in my life has been what has forever changed my life, given me so much hope, and I have been enjoying life like I never have.

It's been over 5 years since I went through the program, and I would definitely, hands down, without a doubt recommend it to anyone. I had a life-controlling addiction, was extremely depressed, and did not want to live…I left Mercy a very free woman…and I am still that today. I do not want you to feel that I am speaking against you…or that you cannot feel what you feel about Mercy Ministries. I must admit that it is pretty hard and harsh to read though, because I personally know Nancy…and she is probably one of the most selfless people I know and she would do anything for so many ppl. Absolutely she is not perfect, but what she is doing is a great thing….and thousands of women, such as myself and countless friends, have been and are being set free because of Mercy. You do not even have to do anything with this comment, and I am not even trying to change you or your mind. I just wanted you to hear from someone who has experienced something amazing in life because of my time at Mercy. I am sure you are a great guy, and I hope the best for you!

  16. Kristin,

Thanks for your polite comment. I have no doubt whatsoever that you have been helped by Mercy. You are correct I know women who have not had the same experience as you.

You have read my comments, so you know my position. Mercy has some success (but no more than any other program as far as we can tell). In my opinion, Nancy and Mercy needs to be transparent to be taken seriously. They need to be honest about their success and be humble enough to admit that a good program needs constant review. They need to move away from deliverance ministry.

    Peace.

It sounds like Kristin wasn't in either of the Aussie homes. If she knows Nancy then I would assume she's from the US. But what about all the girls from the US who have spoken out about the damage being in MM did to them. They can't be discounted especially when their experiences are substanciated by all the media reports and other information from other girls who went to MM in another country. It's interesting that Kristin is saying the exorcisms helped her rather than traditional counselling. The RTF would have been used if she was at MM in the US in the time frame she claims. But it's good that she was polite.

  21. Trying to break down the Us vs Them mentality and to get Mercy supporters to realise that a) no program is perfect b) that organisations can do bad and good with the best of intentions c) that the problems at Mercy Australia weren't related to a rougue sub organisation but as a result of problems that are organisational (in my opinion)
