“Don’t mold your children, let me do it” – Pope

benedictsays2

For a brief minute on reading this article from Monsters and Critics, I thought that the Pope had com out of his recent bout of senile dementia.

In his homily the pope was quoted as saying

parents should also refrain from ‘moulding (their children) on the basis of their own ideas and desires,’ nor allow them the full liberty of fulfilling every wish and aspiration.

that they

should not regard their offspring as a ‘private property’, but rather focus on providing them with a Christian upbringing.

So lets just think what he is saying here. He is not saying don’t try to live your life through your children. He is saying don’t raise them by your own judgement. Don’t construct a mould out of anything else but the Catholic Religion, effectively “they are not your private property but MINE.”

I don’t know about you Benny, but based on the church’s past record of moulding children you can take a running jump of you balcony and do us all a favour, if you thing anyone should mould their child according to your dictates.

The photo is very fitting for this post.
I thought religious people did that anyway. Indoctrinate them into their cult. :)
