Mercy Re-branding

One of my roving reporters notes that Nambour Christian college in Queensland is supporting Mercy Ministries, only now it is referred to as Mercy International. For a minute I thought that it was this organisation which touts itself as Mercy International. In reading the school news letter further, however, they refer to the event as a Mercy Ministries fundraiser.

I have heard reports of Mercy re-branding their program “Restoring the Foundations” as well. If anyone can find further confirmation of this, it would be appreciated.

So is this a subtle shift to further obscure the connections between Mercy Ministries Australia and Mercy Ministries International? Is the principal of Nambour aware of the scandal? I know the college is Christian but I also know of fundamentalist pastors in Queensland who won’t go near Mercy because of what they have done to their charges.
