I am seriously considering writing a post for Carnival of the Godless. For non-Atheist readers COTG is a biweekly collection of blog posts on atheism.
The submissions are open to anyone regardless of philosophical/religious leanings with the proviso that the topic written about have something to do with Atheism. Its coming up to its 91st edition and is a good round up for current atheist blogging.
Now I find myself somewhat struck with a bit of stage fright? What should I talk about? Lots of people will read what I have to say? What am I going to write about?

This is obvious, but write about something you know. Write about Mercy Ministries or your experience with atheism or religion.
OG,
That was my first thought – to write about Mercy Ministries. But then I though have I written too much on it? I suppose I could tie it into the wider evangelical community, the wider scheme of things?
You are a good writer, you will do fine.
Poodles,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I suppose my original post was a bit self depreciating.
I think what I am lacking is flow. Normally I can sit down and just fire something out.
Maybe I just need to shut up and write?
Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Yes, you are a good writer.
Why not your own personal story as to how you overcame your original indoctrinated beliefs, or some aspect of that?
As Poodles said, you’re a good writer, its your own story so it should just flow easily….go for it Sean!!!
Thumper,
I feel like I have posted on that a couple of times and I am not sure its the right sort of material for post.
Currently I am going with:
“The dangers of faith based mental health provision” which I hope will do a couple of things.
1. Expand my research outside of just Mercy Ministries
2. Bring Mercy Ministries to the attention of a wider US audience.
Sounds good, looks like you have done much research on Mercy, I’m sure there are many other organisations that could do with such scrutiny.
Funny how the words ‘faith based’ and ‘mental health provision’ really dont sit well together, in my mind anyway, but many people seem to think its perfectly alright to allow these organisations to undertake such things…so its obvious it needs much more delving into and an expose of the underbelly of this ‘industry’!
Seems to me most COTG contributions are already existing posts that are submitted, rather than exclusively written for COTG. Perhaps an existing post of which you are particularly proud?
