Sometimes I ask my self why I bother blogging, this is an unpaid labour of love for me despite the Google ads and the amazon links.
But then you get the chance to help out the wonderful women who are survivors of Mercy Ministries and they thank you for helping them – it certainly breaks down my macho Aussie exterior ( I am much like a caramello hard on the outside soft in the middle).
Then there are the contacts you make, friends who you travel half a continent to meet and who you talk to like you have been friends for life.
And then sometimes you run into people who have forged ahead and made a difference, people who have put themselves on the line or in the public spotlight at some cost to themselves, to get a message out.
One such person is Tanya Levin. Tanya who? some of my American readers may ask? Well, Tanya is the author of People in Glass Houses - part personal journey, part expose on the Hillsong Church in Australia.
Her publisher Blank Inc has this to say:
Tanya Levin grew up in the church that became Hillsong – the country’s most ambitious, entrepreneurial and influential religious corporation. People in Glass Houses tells how a small Assemblies of God church in a suburban school hall became a multi-million dollar tax-free enterprise, a cult and a powerful force in Australia today. Opening up the world of Christian fundamentalism, this is a powerful, personal and at times very funny exploration of an all singing, all swaying mega church.
Tanya has also appeared on National Television in Andrew Denton’s Enough Rope.
So as a special treat, in the next week or so I will be posting Tanya’s comments on some of the issues that have been discussed recently on this blog

Can’t wait. I’d like to read the book.
I’m going to try to look up the book.
You’re one of those bloggers you feel like you’ve known forever.. even if you haven’t. =)
Shucks AF,
Thanks. I quite enjoy peering into your life as well (hope that doesn’t sound too creepy?).
The book might be a bit hard to find on Amazon as it only listed last week. But if you are interested I might be able to arrange something
I shall look forward to this
