Let me “profess” to the “anonymous”
commentor that will not cop to their identity and seems to think YOU & “we” don’t know what we’re talking about. Therefore: Madam
“Anonymous” I AM a “Christian”, Sean will TELL you that, he KNOWS it. But he & I will also tell you
I won’t go spouting off what I believe & shoving it down anyone else’s throat. And I would NEVER, EVER, claim to be able to “cure”/”heal”/”facilitate” someone’s “recovery” from addiction/mental illness by suggesting/leading/forcing them to
Christ. I wouldn’t do it even if I were a LICENSED mental health care professional. Which I’m not, and I KNOW IT. But I have had my struggles the last 2 yrs., and I know a “rat”/bogus deal when I see
one, and “Mercy” is the antithesis of it’s name.

Yeah, Sean can “take it”, and you’re making a BIG mistake if you
“pick” on him, because you’re losing out on having an intelligent
friend. Even the best of friends don’t agree on EVERYTHING.

If YOU got “help” @ Mercy, then I’d
garner you’d be one of a lucky minority. It could be due to alot of things- maybe the “timing” was just right in YOUR life for you to be receptive to one or several “dangling particples” of real truth that someone said. Maybe you lucked out and got one of the few(?) really good professionals.

But, I can tell ya one thing- Sean is “right”- those of us whom know him will take up for him and contrary to what you may be tempted to think, most of us are not stupid &/or “uninformed”. About alot of stuff. I think you need to go back & read his personal
info on the front page & read what he says about not necessarily believeing what “we” do, but he has
respect for an individual.

93% success? Originally they were saying 95%, but then they revised it to 9O%. So which is it? And why was MM’s record keeping so unprofessional as to result in these variations? And for that matter, how does MM define success? By whether or not a person is still throwing $$$ into the Hillsong coffers?

Don’t pretend you’re not going to be reading this anonymous: if you really don’t cruise by to enjoy that pious tingle you get down the back of your neck when ‘unbelievers are persecuting you’ it’s only because you checked that little box which sends follow-up comments to your email.

Here’s a challenge for you anonymous: you profess to be a Christian – why don’t you start proving it by trying to show you’re thinking honestly about what’s happened at MM, and by showing some compassion and empathy for those whom your church has clearly hurt? Or if that’s too hard, how about by just listening to the people who’ve been stamped on by those your trying to defend?

2) 93% success rate??!! bullocks!!
More than half the girls in the program when I was there were kicked out or left. This ‘more than half’ has been said to be across the board, with many of girls citing mistreatment by mercy and unqualified staff as the reasons they left. (Mercy also can’t seem to pick a % and stick with it, they can’t seem to keep track of their own lies, has anyone else noticed this?)

3) A ‘few’ negative experiences? When tens of girls come forward, from more than one country, I don’t see how you can call that a few.

4) It is well known that mercy staff and their families have been making pro mercy posts, spouting more misinformation about the program. Probably the most ignorant and sad thing of all is that they think people might be so stupid as to believe them when the evidence shows otherwise.
