Thou shalt not get involved in politics…

The New South Wales State parliment has begun the first steps in overturning a ban on theraputic cloning. Despite political interference from Cardinal Pell. There were even calls for Pell to apologise to the Parliment after he suggested that Catholic MP’s voting for the bill could expect consequences.

Perth’s Archbishop Barry Hickey went even further suggesting the MP’s could face excommunication, he is now facing a state parliamentary privileges committee investigation for his veiled threats.

Unfortunately the Prime Minister feels that they are entitled to voice their opinions, and could not see the difference between that and the influence Unions exert on Labour politicians.

The thing Mr Howard, is that they are not just voicing their opinions they are threatening consequences and attemtping to control parliament – would it be different if they were Muslim Imams I wonder?

With the passing of the vote 65 to 25 lets hope that puts the Church back in its box.
