I’m not sure on this one. I have only heard Dawkins on video’s and he seems to be very intelligent and matter-of-fact. He sure can hold his own in a debate, a quick thinker. I’m not sure I would call him a militant…not sure about this one.

I think in some situations atheism may have to be stongly represented, to be heard above the chanting of the Christian Right.
I think to call Hawkins Militant is an attempt to sideline his thinking/vaild criticisms to make the general populace pigeon hole him as irrelevant.
There will be those atheists for who Atheism is a religion in all but name, nothing more than a change of clothes.
